Connect to KIES and check whether there is any firmware update available.
Recently they were rolling out some small updates. My update fixed the problem right away.

Which version of s3 is it (What country are you in)?
It should still be covered by the warranty

are you running the "batter doctor" App? I have been running it for months with no problem. 2 days before I upgraded to the new multi-window firmware, slow response bringing up things that worked great before. And now even after, same thing if battery doctor is running. bye bye battery doctor!

i connected to kies .....got msg that using latest version of software 4.1.2.......now what ,,,,,,,,i read some where that viber is giving such prob,,,,i uninstall it and prob is reduced to much better extent but i also need that app,,,,,,is it something to do with the mother board

What country are you in? If outside the US, it could be a problem with a chip on the motherboard yeah.
Aparently the best simple thing to do is when it freezes, leave it until it unfreezes or reboots.
Ive told my brother to do this and its starting to happen less
