Help Galaxy S3 Locks up Constantly Help??

Hey Fellas,

Stoked to get my Pre-Order S3 for Verizon. Unfortunatley the phone likes to randomly lock up and reboot. It is happening non stop. I did a Hard reset (several times) and then for fun tried rooting it to see if it was a software issue. The rooting process seemed to help... and then what do you know.. lock up again!

Do I just have a F'd phone?

(Called Verizon. Guy tells me I have to wait until the 19th to get another one shipped out) Gotta love it!

Having the same problem with mine. It runs fine but when I turn the screen off, half the time I can't get it to come back on and have to do a battery pull.

Are you using a screen lock? I'm using the pattern lock.

Did u find a solution to this problem. I have the same issue half the time it does not come out of the lock screen. I use numeric keypad lock which is forced as using work exchange server. If u have a solution would love it as have to pull out battery to get going again..

Thanks in advance...

She's quite right; if the issue was a software one, a lot more people would be reporting it. Even on forums (where problems are usually reported), I haven't seen many reports of this. It seems to be hardware related and only an exchange will do.

scoobysnack,

You will need to reflash your phone to the ROM that came with your phone and reset the flash counter (to remove the warning triangle) before you can exchange your phone under warranty. Sometimes they'll exchange it even if it's rooted but it's not worth the risk.
