Help Galaxy s3 lockscreen notification badges

Hello i rescently factory resetted my GS3 and somehow i cannot get back my beloved "bubbles" that show missed calls and messages. i wil provide a picture of what im looking for.

the reason for the factory reset was that an unwanted update was installed.

It only works if swipe screen lock is enabled. If you're using a pin or password or pattern lock, it will not work.

I am currently using Swipe to unlock. and still no dice
