Help Galaxy S3 MTP Drivers not being recognized

I have a GS3 i747 running 4.1.2
All I want to do is downgrade to 4.1.1 so I can unlock the damn phone and use it with T-Mobile. My previous GS3 & current one are having the SAME problem - The MTP drivers are failing to install and my PC will not recognize the device

I've tried the following:
- Factory reset device while deleting all drivers on computer. (did not sign in to google during factory reset)
- Samsung toolkit download
- Reinstalled drivers on computer
- Used different cables including factory
- Used different USB ports
- Updated windows media player
- Attempted to update drivers from device manager
- Attempted to update MTP through windows update but failed
- Connected device without sim/SD card
- Installed drivers without internet connection (phone & PC)
- 2 PCS including 1 mac
- Switched back and forth from PTP & MTP

The ADB interface, Mobile USB modem, and USB composite device are all recognized. MTP will not install. At one point before deleting all samsung drivers from my computer the MTP driver in device manager did say "your driver is up to date", even though there was an exclamation mark next to it.. wtf? My phone recognizes it is connected to the computer & gives the option for PTP or MTP to check.

have u been able to figure the problem out. I am having the same exact issue with my samsung galaxy s3 sprint version. I have looked for different ways to fix it and have found many different opinons but none of them work. please let me know if you found a long term way to resolve this issue. I am acctually chatting with a live agent from samsung as i type this to see if they can help me solve the problem.

hey man just wanted to let you know that i got it to work.

step one: make sure to unistall the mtp usb driver on your computer(the one with the little ! mark net to it)

step two: unistall all usb samsung drivers under (unistall programs)

step 3: go here (Support - Sprint Cell Phones SPH-L710 | Samsung Cell Phones) and download (Device(Install),USB Driver (Software) (ver.v1.5.14.0)

step 4: download the latest version of kies ( version: 2.6.1.13105_5) just came out 10/31/2013

step 5: once you have downloaded kies and acctepted the codex and everything during install is done and you have installed the drivers from samsung site. RESTART PC.

step 6: once pc is restarted RUN KIES plug in usb to comp and phone and cross fingers that it works. you will see the driver being installed when you plug in...at least i did. Btw i have windows 8. hope it works out for you cuz it did for me and im super happy about it.
