Galaxy S3 Screen Lighting Problems

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me.

Recently (past week or so), when I click the power button to check the time, the screen would usually go black after x amt of seconds. But now, the screen doesn't blacken out. It just stays lit.

Samsung Galaxy s3 bought new Dec 2013. I don't have any fancy apps and it's an unrooted device ( I think..)

First check the screen time-out settings in Settings display.

Second think of any apps that you installed around the time this started happening. Also you can check the applications running in the application manager (Swipe over from downloaded to running) If you see something unfamiliar or unwanted you can decided to uninstall it.

There's a bunch of stuff on this issue on XDA. There's talk of secret menus, resetting some proximity sensor setting that can go wacky, etc.

I don't have a link, but I found it and read through when I was trying to fix an S3 I had that was having some issues.

I'll see if I can find anything later, but you might want to search over there.

Also screen protectors that cover the sensor can mess with it as well.
