Galaxy S3 won't boot

My Galaxy S3 GT-19300 is stuck on the initial Galaxy S3 screen. (Vodafone network). I've tried taking the battery out, for several minutes, and rebooting. I've tried various combinations of Power/Home/VolumeUp or Down but nothing moves it past this screen - I can't get the blue swirly screen.
Any ideas please?
