My new Samsung Galaxy S4 is usually warm where the processor is. Even if all my applications are closed, it is warm up there, but not that bad. I have all my extra features disabled, I think it's sad that I have to do that, and it still gets warm. When I make a call it gets a big hotter and it's not VERY hot, but I feel the heat going into my ear; I don't like that feeling. Anyway, if I search the web I can feel it up there and it's not very hot but it's definitely pretty warm. Then when I play a game (the only game I have currently is Subway Surfers) it gets pretty hot near the processor. Nothing that is burning me, which is good. I'm afraid if I play a game with more detail it could be bad for the device and dangerous.

I have all my software updates installed. Is this normal?

Welcome to Android Forums. Sorry for the delay in responding to your question.

Try downloading an app called Temp Monitor Lite. This will show the battery temp, and if you have a processor temp sensor, the temp of the processor.

Normal usage indoors, in an air conditioned room, the battery should not exceed 95 with the Data on only. Should be in the 80's with WiFi on only. If using phone as a hotspot it shouldn't be above 105.

For more info and phone specific support go here: Samsung Galaxy S4 - Android Forums

If this is not your model go here: http://androidforums.com/
Scroll down to the Android Phones window and choose your model from the list.

Hope this has helped.
