Galaxy S5 Camera Issue

I currently own S3 and I wanted to buy Galaxy S5. I have been hearing news about S5 issue related to camera due to a problem with its ROM. Has anyone faced it it? Thanks

You are hearing snakes in the grass trying to smear the S5.

A few cameras had a mechanical rattle in them, they were replaced immediately w/o any issues.

A few folks did not get the protective plastic film off the camera lens and complained of fuzzy pictures.

My camera has been perfect from day one. I made sure to get the film off the camera lens.

Do you mean the "Warning: Camera Failed" message pop up without any reason?
It is a camera bug. Samsung recall the phone with this problem.
It is a limited portion of early production Galaxy S5 units as Samsung declared.
My works well.

I am just the messenger, my phone never had the rattle.

"Normal" it is not, that is a BS Script Reader you are talking to, NOT a real technician who knows his beans.

The rattle was in the first run of phones released. Samsung has long since fixed it.

I would go back and yell at your support folks and demand a new phone. You reported it before the warranty ran out. It is a mechanical defect and Samsung wants to replace them (so I am told)

Wait what really?! My customer support agent said it was normal that the camera rattled, and others have reported the same. Can you tell me which Samsung support you contacted, the US one?

camera rattle makes vibrator noisy and ruins its function

Whoa I just watched that video and I have the same rattle. I have had constant problems with my camera and can't get a clear picture even when I am holding as still as possible. Is this the recall issue? Crappy part is I am in Yellowstone National Park and this was the only camera I brought. Most pics suck and I am 10 hours away from home.

I'm not impressed with the camera on the S5.
The camera on the S3 & S4 when set to auto was perfect for my needs & produced perfectly good photos more often than not. Not the case at all with the camera on the S5.
It's slow as hell when trying to focus & even though the flash is set to auto it doesn't flash even in the dark.
In daylight the majority of the pictures I've taken are out of focus, blurred & crap.
Can anyone please give me any advice of how to set this up so I can just point & click whenever I feel the need?
Cheers

It could be you didn't remove the plastic protection sheet in front of the camera? Most cameras rattle it seems, and their cameras are fine.

The plastic piece is definitely off. I have pinpointed the symtoms of my issues: turn camera on, take some pics (the lag is so bad I miss the shots sometimes), turn phone off without leaving app, repeat, turn phone on and it is the bsod. I can feel the haptic feedback of my back button presses but nothing else works until I pull the battery. This has happened 4 times since I left for my vacation last Friday. It's getting old fast. Note: while the phone is in its dead state, the rattling is gone. I'm thinking it must get stuck in camera mode and can't get out. I have missed a handful of pictures that I'll never get to take again. The update better come fast for Verizon and had better fix the crappy camera issues.

You guys do know as the phone can take heart rate it also has a pedometer as well, Im not saying the rattling you hear is not real because I shook mines and I can hear a slight sound. I guess it depends how loud it is! How loud is the rattling? I havent had my phone for a month yet....

I hear a rattle, but have no issues whatsoever with my phone.

Camera takes beautiful pics.
Notification vibration is not particularly 'loud'.
Camera lag; none. Only seems a little delayed when it's doing the double-flash, redeye-reduction effect.
Zero complaints.

My phone has slight rattle too. When turn camera on it goes away. But everything works just fine. Have over 300 pictures in phone so far and all are crystal clear and great. Give or take 5 or 6 because of lighting situations. No complaints from me so far . All is good.

The S health app uses the accelerometer to count steps so there are no pedometer. In my case it is very loud I also have lots of apps crashing so I'll probably return it but i digress.

Yeah take that back. Are you still under warranty

When in camera mode, check the settings and make sure HDR, stabilization and all other bells and whistles are off. Most of them make it take longer to focus and take pictures. Great for what they do, but not speed shots.
