Ok soooooooooo I've had my galaxy s5 for a little over a year and I've had little to no problems. I had my charging port damaged by water but I fixed it with the rice solution. So it's worked perfect since then now a couple days ago I plugged my phone in and over night it stopped charging, so I cleaned the USB port and plugged it in during school and all was fine...until it stopped charging over night again and I cleaned it and this time nothing, so I waited all day and just left it and it charged with the USB port in my car. And all was ok until last night again it stopped charging bit I had read something about it needing to be plugged into a laptop and it started charging just fine... soo is there a fix for this!?!? Like a permanent one? what are some probable causes?anything g help thanks a million!

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but if the battery is removable, I'd recommend you get one of those Universal Wall Chargers and just charge it like that. They are cheap, and it helps you bypass all the "standard" charging problems like the one you have now!

You could also replace the port. It's inexpensive and there are many step by step guides on the net
