HI All,
Had a disturbing minute today when I pulled my phone out of my pocket there was a yellow Warning Triangle saying my phone has been rooted, contact your carrier. Restarted the phone and all seems to be well.
An obvious hack I think. Any suggestions?
Thanks.......Tom

hmmm well the s5 can be rooted, but it cannot be done remotely. you will need to install an app or use your pc to root the device. so unless you gave your phone to someone you are not familiar with, i doubt it was rooted. if you want to play it safe, you can try a factory reset or better yet flash a firmware update from sammobile,

Thank you all for your input. I'm sorry that I didn't mention that I rooted my phone years ago. I'm very concerned with privacy and security so I think mikedt probably hit the nail on the head. I do use adaway and I only get apps from the playstore. Would love to update this ROM. I like this phone and when I check out the new phone prices I like my phone even more.:-)

Thank you again, Tom

if you are concerned about privacy and security then you should not have rooted your phone. in essence you removed any security your phone has. it is easier for somebody to grab your phone and download something that could gain admin rights very easily. as long as you are careful you should be fine, but i would keep a very close eye on your phone at all times. i would add two step verification on all accounts where applicable.

but yeah, if that is the case, it could definitely be something like @mikedt mentioned.
