I thought that letter represented the carrier. But I don't know what f or i(international?) would stand for. I think I'm wrong though.

F is an unlocked international version. The i model is sold in NZ (and elsewhere around this area I think). I've got the F (got it on parallel import) and works exactly the same as the local model except for NZ specific functions, which as fast as I can work out is just Semble which is a sim based payment app that works with some of the banks here.
