Galaxy S8 - How to use Iris Scanner to lock your phone

The Galaxy S8 is a built-in iris scanner that secures your device using the unique pattern of your irises. Since no two people have the same eyes, it's a very secure method of locking down your device and because it's using infrared, it works just as well in the dark.

Here's where you'll find it:
  1. Go to Settings
  2. Lock screen and security
  3. Tap on Irises
  4. Follow the steps to register your eyes
  5. Optional: Iris unlock when screen turns on (immediately scans your eyes when the screen turns on)
You can also lock down your device using facial recognition, but it's much less secure (this can be tricked by someone holding up a photo of you) and nowhere near as fast as the iris scanner. Unfortunately, you can't use both facial recognition and iris scanning at the same time, so you'll have to pick one or the other.
