Without seeing it it's impossible to say what the cause might be - manufacturing defect, mechanical or thermal damage. Is it delaminating, or is the display assembly separating from the midframe? All I can say is that it isn't a common or widespread problem.
As it's a mechanical problem then I'm afraid that the only fix is a repair of some sort. If your warranty is void (or you don't care about voiding it) you could look at screen replacement guides, compare their steps with your situation and see whether you can do it yourself, or find a local repair shop. But as Funky says if it is under warranty I'd probably get them to do it (assuming it's a defect rather than damage).
