Galaxy SII GTI9100P Update to ICS

Can someone please clear this up for me... I seem to be getting conflicting opinions.

I have just purchased the Galaxy SII GTI9100P version. I am being told by O2 that ICS is 'definitely' available now for my phone. I informed the intelligent chap that I had the 'P' model and did that make a difference and he said no.

Kies is telling me I have the latest firmware which on my phone is Gingerbread.

Could someone please clarify for me, the difference between GTI9100 and GTI9100P, and if known, when an update may be available.

Many thanks in advancement of knowledge

ICS, Android 4.0.x, is not available for the, "P", variant of the Samsung Galaxy SII on O2 carrier branded firmware at present. See posts #1 and #2, here.

There have been no indications from O2, as to when this will be released.

The main difference between the SGSII, GT-i9100, and the GT-i9100P variant is that the, "P", has NFC, Near Field Communication, ability and requires amended i9100 firmware for this to operate.
