Help Galaxy SIII mini will not sync Google calendar

My new samsung mini S3 will not sync my google calendar. It is my first Samsung, and maybe the problem is, that when I started my samsung account, I gave the same gmail address as my google calendar. When I first set up the phone, it synced perfectly. But in the two months since it has maybe twice succeeded in syncing. Now both the Samsung account and the google account say sync error. Gmail works, it is just the calendar that is the problem. (The direction seems to be irrelevant.) I am using the built in samsung calendar app. I tried google's calendar app and a couple others. All have the same problem. Can you help?

I would try this (I too have a samsung account with the same email as my primary google account):

Open splanner
click the big calendar button at the top
deselect; My calendar & My task at the top
deselect Samsung calendar & samsung tasks where they are listed under your samsung account email
press "done" button at top right

Now just use googles calender sync service and always add new entries to a google calendar.
Try rebooting the phone and allowing it to sync for a while when connected to wifi/data.

These settings work with my wifes S3mini. I think you just have too many calendars fighting each other.
