Help Galaxy sIII not eligible for GV integration?

I upgraded from an s2 to an s3 and Google Voice is telling me the device is not eligible for GV integration, is that true or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks,

Shane

It certainly does work. On the GV website, it will tell you the line is available for integration and give you the options.

You have to unlink it from your old device and link it to your new device via voice.google.com

That's what I did and it worked like a charm.

There is a setting for text messages separate from voice messages but it does work. I can't even fully integrate GV withmy carrier (US Cellular). I can use all the options except having GV as my voice mail provider (apparently my carrier doesn't support that particular function). Sucks but I can do just about everything else.

I always thought to send text thru GV you HAD to use the GV app to create and send the text. Any text send from the default messaging app or apps like Handcent, Go SMS, etc only use the carrier to send text. If I'm wrong, let me know.

on my sII I thought any text sent even from native text was GV # not sprint carrier Because GV Integration. my sIII has not yet completed the GV integration.

strange I was able to enable a Blackberry device for GV integration but not my sIII. what is going on here?

If memory serves me correctly, if you go into a contact and try and send a messge by tapping on envelope, it brings up a menu asking you which app you want to use and Google Voice is one of the choices along with Messaging app. Obviously if you go right into messaging and start that way, it will assume that's the app you want to use.

If you are a sprint customer, and you have used the integration option, then there is no selecting which method to send texts or make phone calls. The integration is at the switch level, not the phone. All phone calls and text messages will utilize your GV number. The only exception, which again you have no control over, is if you send an MMS, it will bypass GV and use your sprint number.

If you are being prompted or making sections, you are not integrated.

That is exactly how it was with my Galaxy sII but it isnt that way with the sIII. am I doing something wrong, does anyone else have the sIII and Integrated with GV from the website and device?

If so, I tried deleting the # online but that didn't help. Strange on the Galaxy sIII when I PLACE a call it uses GV, I remember it asked me what I wanted for Phone but never Voice. So I am not fully Integrated right? what am I missing?

Thanks,

Shane
