Help Galaxy stellar stuck on warning screen?

So last night I was on my phone, on youtube and such; normal phone stuff. When I went to go turn the volume down, however, it didn't work. It would only turn it up. No big deal, I thought, I'll just restart it. Then when I went to go press the power button, that didn't work either. So I took the battery out and put it back in. Then when it turned on, I got a warning message on the screen:

"Warning!!
A custom OS can cause critical problems in phone and installed applications.

Installing a custom OS on your device may cause it to shut down as a result. Please see manual details.

If you want to download a custom OS, press the volume up key.
Otherwise, press the volume down key to cancel.

Volume up: Continue
Volume down: Cancel (restart phone)"

I tried pressing both volume keys, but neither worked. So I figured maybe it was some kind of app that was messing it up. I held down the power button and the volume down button and I can't remember exactly what happened; either it restarted and went back to the warning screen, or it did nothing. So I pressed the power button and the volume up key, and it went into safe mode. I took my SD card out, turned the phone on in Safe Mode, and did a factory reset. I then restarted the phone, and it went right back to the warning screen!
So I had to boot it up in safe mode again and customize the phone settings from there, since I did a factory reset and I had to choose my language, wifi, etc etc.

I've read some posts where they said the problem was that the volume key was stuck; but mine seems to be working just fine, it's just when I press it down, the volume won't go down. And in safe mode, the power button DID work, but at one point it did stop working until the phone went to sleep and I pressed the power button again.
I can't keep my phone on safe mode forever :c And even if I did, the volume still wouldn't work.
Anyone know why this could be happening?

If you've reset and it's still an issue, you have a hardware problem, almost certainly with the volume down key.

Is it possible that it's been bumped or there's dirt lodged underneath or something?

I'll see if I can dig out a repair guide if that's something you're comfortable with?
