Help Galaxy Tab 2 7" Day 1 Q's

Hi guy's probably going over old ground but a couple of pointers would help.

1 - Play store is busy downloading all my apps that are on my Gallaxy iii phone, should I have clicked something else during set up to start with a clean slate.

2 - What version of Android should it be running.

3 - What's the largest SDHC Micro card I can use and is it safe enough to dismount them if I want to swap between a card for music and a card for movies.

Thanks.

1) You probably entered the google account you used on your S3 which keeps a record of which apps you have installed on your S3

2) Samsung's website states it comes with Android 4.1 Jellybean.

3) The microSD card slot supportd a microSD card up to 32GB

You could have started an new account for the Tab 2.

Current firmware is 4.1.1 with 4.1.2 coming at any time...

Good luck with SD cards, mine eats them for lunch.

You might search other threads, but I believe some have been able to get 64gb cards to work fine.

There are a few people here who have had some pretty bad luck with cards in their tabs, but I've never had an sd card of any kind go bad in any device I've ever owned, including my tab.

Don't get it wet, don't touch the contacts with greasy fingers, etc.

Make sure you don't try to force it in upside down, and that you push it in until it clicks in place.

Can you open a new/second account with the same Gmail address as I'd like most of my Google stuff synced.
Use the same account, Google Play can distinguish between your devices. I have two tablets, a phone, and a Google TV unit all on my account. When I install an app from Play on my PC, I select which device to install it to. It will also show which devices are compatible with the app I've chosen.

I'm only a day into my new toy, would it be easier re-settling the tab and start from scratch.

You don't need a new account. Just untick Restore from Google when you setup a new device.

I have a few movies as VOB files that wont play on the tab anybody know of a decent converter to convert from VOB to something that will play on the tab 2.
