I decided to download the app Lux today in hopes of making auto brightness more functional on my Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus. It wasn't until I saw exact lux readouts that I realized my light sensor was wonky. I've tried multiple sensor monitors and they all show that my tab has three sensor values: 12, 120, and 1200...nothing in between. That makes auto brightness useless
Which brings me to another problem. I thought to wipe the device clean and reinstall honeycomb to fix the brightness problem, but I'm having trouble backing up my apps/data either because of the location of the SD card (/sdcard/extStorages/SdCard/) or possibly because of a permissions problem with the card? I've tried multiple backup apps and changed the backup location but have received error messages on every one. MyBackup tells me "unable to open database file". I tried reformatting the card from within the device, but still no go.
I saw one other person who had this exact problem (brightness sensor) on a different forum, with no resolution. Any guesses? lol
Thanks for your help
Am I stuck just waiting for ICS?
