Galaxy Tab 7 Plus import/sync file problems

Hi all,

I bought the Tab last week.
(I also own a Samsung Galaxy Note - GT-N7000 - no problems with this smartphone - love it)

I can import/synch *music* files with "Kies" without any problems.(!)
Whereas *pictures and videos* is quite another matter!
I have tried everything. "Kies" and using "Explorer".
Whenever I import/synch pictures and videos, they are not visible in the "Gallery" or "Videos" apps.

However I can find the picture & video files in the "Files" app under
/root/DCIM/camera or /root/DCIM.thumbnails.
No matter what I do, these files always find their way in there.

NB: I have had no such problems with my "galaxy Note" ever since I bought it last year.

is there a software problem here or am I just getting senile.
These problems are driving me nuts as I have been trying to solve this problems for days now.
Anybody who can help will have my undying gratitude

Hi again,
Astro File browser is an interesting app.
When I want to move/paste a picture , it says "source & destination the same".
I'm a bit dense here. I can "set as" in the "gallery" app.
From there on, there seems to be nowhere to go.
Of course, I can launch my picture or video from the "Astro app.
This seems to be a roundabout way of doing things and not a permanent solution.
What am I missing here?
I get the impression the software is flawed. Either that or I'm flawed.
Any suggestions most welcome.
