Help Galaxy Tab E

Garry G

Lurker
I have had the tablet for some time.
I have a great many pictures in the gallery.
I am trying to move the pictures from "downloads" to albums but cannot see how.
I downloaded the manual but it is no help.
How do I move pictures from album to album or from downloads to albums.
Thanks
Garry

Samsung includes a basic file manager, look in your Apps menu for the 'My Files' app. That should allow you to move around multiple files and create folders.

Do you have any kind of backup solution set up so your photo library is safely backed up? If not, think about using the Google Photos app. It's OK as a Gallery app replacement but more important is it includes a function to back up and sync your photo archive up into your online Google account. If you don't have your photos backed up anywhere, it's really important you do.

Thanks for the reply but I am still stuck. I have spent some time trying to organize the photos.
I have the albums created in Gallery and the files are in "my files" under DCIM.
I think I have touched every button or signal on every page but I cannot find how to "MOVE" a picture from one album or file to another. I can create the folders and delete pictures or folders. I just cannot move a picture from one folder to another.
We are also having on the galaxy Core cell phone in organizing the photos.
I guess I spent too many years on that "other" system.

I open my files.
Under DCIM the files or albums are listed.
I open the folder (file) and the pictures are there.
I can find no place that says "move".
I cannot find a place to tell how to move the picture or to tell it where to move the picture

Any help would be appreciated.
Garry

When you're in the My Files app, navigate to where your photos are and if you just want to move one or two you just need to long press on each and then a contextual menu will pop up with different functions -- Delete, Move, Copy, etc.
If you have a lot of files, skip the long press and there's a checkbox to the left of each file. Put a green checkmark in the files you want to move and when you have them all selected use the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines) in the top right corner to open up a contextual menu to move all the files at the same time.
The same applies if you want to move a folder, just long press on it (or if you have several folders, select them and use the menu option to move them.)
