Gallery : any alternative to this crappy app ?

If I'm not mistaken - that's the same app which I compare to QuickPic in post #12 of this thread. Does zooming behave as lousily for you as for me or does it actually work?

yep its a deal maker. The quality is amazingly better on quick pic. Best find on android for while. Cheers very much Tiny turtle

I have been searching for a better photo organizer/viewer forever. I am surprised more people don’t complain about the lack of a good app for this. Quick pic is pretty good for the reasons mentioned here. However I am still looking for a photo organizer with true directory based browsing. And I would really like an organizer with a photo tagging feature – i.e. a way to tag people. If the tagging was automated based on facial recognition that would be even better.

Just Pictures can't handle large folders - it's totally useless. For small folders with 20 pics or so, yes, it's cool. But I had 400 images taken with my camera on my phone and Just Pictures would take (I timed it) 90+ seconds to load the folder because it was crunching data. That's utterly ridiculous! My brother had the exact same problem so the thing is simply badly coded. As a result I strongly recommend AGAINST JustPictures. Quick Pic is miles better as a simple gallery - although I can see how it lack some features.

I just downloaded and installed QuickPic and I think its just great!

Was about to start a thread to ask about gallery apps. Just nice that this thread appeared on the first page.b :D

Yes it's how I found Quickpic too :) there's many topics like this one being made and no surprise really - the basic gallery is pretty bad when it can't even properly zoom in. At first I thought my camera was really horrible until I downloaded a picture from a browser and it was ugly zoomed in as well so i knew something was wrong. Then I tried JustPictures and got fed up with having to wait several minutes before I could go through my pictures and Quick Pic was the final app I tried and I love it.

agreed...QuickPic is by far the fastest loading. Unfortunately it doesn't access either picasa or flickr or facebook photos. Just Pictures can access all of those and has an option to preload the photos before viewing which speeds it up a bit. I am using both apps, QuickPic when I just want to quickly view a photo taken with my phone or downloaded, and Just Pictures to access other online photos.

ive been using Just Pictures for some time now and i like the interface a lot more than stock gallery. Installing QuickPic now to give it a try.
