Alright, I've been having this problem for a while now, ever since I added pictures to my phone via USB tethering. My gallery app will not display all the files that are on my SD card. What's stranger still, is it will display half of the videos or pictures in a folder, but not the other half.
Last night though, it stopped showing ones it always used to show. So to try and fix it, I renamed the folder, in an attempt to make it refresh. I moved the files to a new folder. I also tried rebooting the phone. Nothing made the gallery see these files that it USED to see. I even put files it WAS seeing into the same folder with files it WASN'T, and it still didn't see them.
So this morning I tried turning the phone off, removing the SD card, and reseating it to see if that helped. Well upon rebooting and opening the gallery app, without the videos and pictures being displayed (big surprise) I checked the SD card, and it actually deleted all but 1 of the files It hadn't been seeing. And the file that was left, it was seeing before I reseated the SD card, but now it isn't seeing the file, even though it is there.
I'm pretty pissed right now that A: the app is not working properly and B: That it deleted my files. Before I go through the hassle of data recovery by putting the SD card in my computer, I'd like to find out if there is anyway to reverse this. I would also like to fix the gallery not working.
One last thing, there is no .nomedia, aeven though that wouldn't cause this problem anyway.
