Help Gallery finding "hidden pictures"

Hi All,

Hope someone knows an easier way than using a third party app to hide pics on the Razr/ RazrMaxx

On my last phone (Droid X) , simply having a folder named .pictures would allow me to put pictures I did not want visible if I was scrolling through the gallery (yeah I'm referring to pics of a X-rated nature) to show friends pics I may have taken.

Using a file explorer (ES File Explorer), I was able to still view or end send the pics as needed.

The gallery app on the Razr still finds the "hidden" pictures, regardless if the hidden folder is on internal storage or the SD card.

Any help would be appreciated

P.S. Am using Vaulty right now, and it works to hide the pics from the gallery, but is a pain to have to unvault pics just to be able to attach in a chat program or to send via text

Thanks!

Unfortunately the only way I've found to do this is with a 3rd party app. You can use quickpic instead of reg gallery and hide folders you don't want shown.

what's the purpose of these vault apps? doesn't all it do is change the picture file extension to .txt or something?

Someone else mentioned the .nomedia file in the folder. I have my private folders set up this way and they are not appearing in the My Gallery app on the phone (or any other gallery app for that matter). Shouldn't be any need to install some kind of locker program.
