Root gallery problem

Are you saying that you take a pic and then open the gallery and there is nothing there? If so I have the same problem and gave up on the stock gallery. Install Quickpic from the Playstore. It's free, loads much faster, and I have never had this problem since I started using it.
 
That's odd. If you use a file explorer and browse to DCIM/Camera do you see your pics in that folder?
