Gallery wont hide albums

I have upgraded from GS3 to Note2 and I find that I cannot hide albums in gallery I do think this is more a Jelly Bean problem more than the phone.
Has anyone got any ideas on how to do it or know of an app that will dot it?

QuickPic. I much prefer the gallery on the Note 2 to previous galleries, however before I got this phone I always used QuickPic in place of the stock gallery on Android. Allows hiding/locking folders and a ton more features. Try it, its ace!

QuickPic sees the pictures on my extSDcard fine. I'm not sure why it won't show them for you.

I used QuickPic to hide folders and they disappeared out of the stock gallery too. The internal folders disappeared straight away, and the to get it to rescan the microSD I unmounted it and then mounted it again.

Just make sure you use hide not exclude.

What hide does is put a blank file called .nomedia in the folder. This stops photo, video or music apps scanning that folder. You can still browse that folder to access the media.
