gallery won't load for messaging

[Android Question]

Ok the short version.......when I try to add a pic in a txt it no longer pulls up gallery. It pulls up documents and then switches to recent. I have tried every which way that has been posted to fix it......even reset the phone twice. I have no idea what caused it, I didn't download any pic apps. Any advice would be great cus this is annoying as hell.

A longshot, but possible…
Go into Settings > Manage apps, and ensure you are viewing the "ALL" tab. from there, scroll to the Documents app and select it. Under "Defaults" (you may have to scroll down to see it), tap the Clear defaults button and then retry your gallery test.

Yes I have tried that over and over with almost every app especially after a few hours of still not fixing it.
