Game didn't install

Aurionin

Lurker
I was installing a game from a .apk file on my SD card(The game was Contre Jour and I got it from the Humble Mobile Bundle, so I do legally own it) and in the middle of the install, I got the "Memory Low" popup, telling me that the phone was running out of internal memory, and it stopped the install. Whenever I try to install it again after having made more room, it says "Application not installed," and when I check my internal memory, there is less of it free, so it's installing SOMETHING. Can anyone help me?

Welcome to Android Forums, Aurionin!

That's a weird one. What device are you installing onto? Some phones have two different memory areas, internal and the SD card. Most apps get installed into the internal so freeing up storage on your SD card may not help the problem you're having. You can try uninstalling some unused apps, even temporarily, to see if that helps.

Then again, depending on your device, I could be completely off base. Good luck!

If you have a file manager, try to look for the file name as it could of partially installed. Delete the file. If you don't have a file manager, you could plug your phone into your PC and look for the file as well.

The file manager only lets me see what's on the SD card, not on the phone. I have a T-Mobile Concord. And there's definitely enough space on the phone, so that's not the problem.

I only have one more suggestion and I hesitate to make it because it stinks. You can try backing up everything on your phone and performing a factory reset, then add your apps a few at a time. To those who play with ROMs, this isn't a big deal but to me, it's a royal pain. Not knowing the root cause here, it may not even work. It's the nuclear option and I hope someone else has some insight so you can avoid it.

The Humble Bundle app doesn't work because when you install it via the app, it just uses your phone's default install to install the game, so it's no different from clicking the apk file.

Clear out some of the apps your not using and try again, suggest you move some of the apps to your SD card. When my internal memory is low the games I run usually lags alot and that gets pretty annoying
