NUMERIX
by Mutant Caterpillar Games
Based on a real-life board game by indie board game makers Tied To A Kite, Numerix is a simple yet impossible to master abstract strategy game. The premise is simple. You have six counters and three dice, and you can place or slide a counter onto any square that matches your dice roll:
The aim is to surround your opponent's pieces with three of your own. First player to be reduced to 3 counters remaining, loses the game. Easy, right? So why not try your hand against the Numerix AI. Can you beat it on the highest IQ level? Or play against a friend in hotseat 2-player mode.
The game comes with a full tutorial and even includes an AI Demo mode so you can spy out some of the AI's strategies. The latest version 1.4 also comes with beta 3D rolling dice, which can be activated from the Options menu.
The game supports Android 1.6 and above. QVGA (320x240) screens are not yet fully supported - although the game is playable, some elements may be cut off. Full support for QVGA devices will be forthcoming in a future update. Language support for English and Polish is included, with French and German to be added over the next week.
Numerix Lite is available from the Android Market now. Look out in the coming weeks for Numerix Tournament Edition, with bluetooth, wifi and online matches, new boards, new game modes, and much more!
