Gameboid (GBA Emulator)

This is just a theory but maybe certain bios' only work on certain phones. Someone linked me to a bios they said worked for sure but I tried it and it didn't work. I then found this bios and it worked just fine.

Hey can anyone tell me wat I'm doin wrong I have a moto backflip and I put the bios in the settings and tht will load as if u had started a gba without a cartridge. But my roms when I click on them they won't work and the link from romfinder to doperoms is always download unsuccessful. I have androzip and tried unpacking the files even though I think tht maybe an unneccesary step. Can someone please tell me wat I'm doin wrong I've had to invest so many hours into this already I need help. I downloaded pokemon blue gold and red and none work maybe if u reffered to a site with tons of roms I use mobiles24

Pokemon blue gold and red are all Game boy color games. Gameboid only plays Gameboy advance games. Try download GBCoid from the market.

Anyone Dload ROM BUDDY from the market? Is it worth it? It has killer reviews. Would I still need to Dload the BIOS?

To the person having trouble transferring the save file, there are a few things you should check.

I don't use no$gba or whatever but I have used VBA and there are several options when saving a game. You can do in game saves or save your state.

If you save a state every emulator treats this a little differently(I assume) so it may be impossible for you to transfer it.

If you did ingame saves you still might be out of luck, because the GBAOID I am pretty sure only works with 128 kb flash save types, now when I was using pokemon firered on VBA the rom default saved to 64kb flash. However I started a new game with 128kb checked and did in game saves and was able to transfer it to the gbaoid flawlessly. Also people who can't figure out how to work it take some time and read the instructions it is quite straight forward and the guy behind it has offered an phenomenal amount of support and updates for this application. His newest update even included a speed up function for RPG's to make those long periods of leveling up more stomachable.

Dunno if anyone will have any insight regarding my problem but i'll just put it out there.
Basically after enjoying using gameboid Lite, I decided i'd buy the real thing, after purhcasing it, I tried using the bios file i used for the lite version and no luck, i just get the bios load problem, saying i should specify etc.

So far i've tried over 10 different bios files, and if they work on gameboid lite version, they still don't seem to work with gameboid. I've tried uninstalling both, but that didn't help in the slightest.

I'm having the exact same problem. Kinda making me mad. :(

Did the update today and it deleted all my saved game states! Is there any way I can get it back? Kinda pissed me off.

Took me 2 hours to set this thing up and play tactics ogre. now i understand it, my first emulator unless you count a jamma board.

I bought the full version of this a couple weeks ago. It took me about two tries to find a working gba_bios file. I think I saved it separately from my roms or something. But so far the emulator is working fine on my Droid with no real problems with the program.

But some of the roms are off. Most of the gameshark or action replay roms I have found will not work, beacause they need their switch turned ON. I did fine Codebreaker, and it works, but I can't get a game to load with it, since I don't think the emulator can support more than 1 rom at a time, maybe.

But the GBAoid is definitely worth the few bucks to support the author of it.

I have a question. Gameboid is a fantastic application! I am wondering if I upgrade to the full version (which I want to do) will I lose my currently saved files?

I think it has always had multitouch, at least for my Incredible it has. Now, the lite version has fast forward (I don't remember if the paid one already had that.)!

In Legend Of Zelda - A Link To The Past, the colors keep changing like this when i turn a light on, or when theres thunder.

Anyone know the cause of this? Anyone know how to fix it?

Alright guys I have read all through this thread and tried everything and still i cannot get it to work..here is my issue:

I downloaded the GBA_bios.bin file (have tried multiple versions) and put it on my SD card, browse to it in the the settings but when I go to select a ROM to play it gives me the error "Load BIOS Failed. The BIOS file must be specified in the settings".

I have downloaded multiple roms and BIOS files, as well as reinstalled the program. The only thing I can possibly think of is these files all being placed in a generic "downloads" file on my SD card, as i am doing all of this over the web browser on the phone, as opposed to being hooked up to an actual computer.

Any thoughts?
I'm having this same problem someone please help!

Thanks.

When using Gameboid and GBCoid, I'm not quite sure which is the correct way to save my progress in a game.

I'm playing Zelda:The Minish Cap, and at first chance I did an in game save, using the save sequence in the actual game (Start-->Save-->Link).

I also noticed that the emulator has a save function as well, that will save my progress in a 'slot'.

When I looked at the files on my microSD card, there was a '.sav' file and a '.ss1' file.

Which file is the proper save?

Thanx.

I bought the SNES emulator from the same dev, but refuse to buy the "GBA Emulator" as it is really a Gameboy Micro emulator. (Gameboy Advance should play Gameboy and Gameboy Color games as well; the dev charges $3.50-$4 for separate emulators for this, which I think is a little unfair.

Granted, I'd pay $5-6 for a back-wards compatible emulator, but I feel calling it a GBA emulator is dishonest.

Ss1 is save state (save anywhere). Sav is the in-game save
