Gameloft now has demo's

Not sure if this is true for all phones. But on my EVO when i go to the gameloft website it now has free trial listed as available to download for all their games.

While I'd still prefer that they list directly on the Market, I do applaud the changes they're making. Downloaded a few demos, might get a sale outta me yet!

This isn't new news - look at the date on the article

I realize it's not new news. I remember when that article was originally posted. However in the article Gameloft's response said:

"Unfortunately this change will take a bit of time but rest assured we will announce once it is live."

They didn't say when the change would be ready. I'm wondering if it's already been put in place.

They uploaded the video on there Youtube channel today.

However, you have to have a certain Android phone from there list to get the free demo's.

I thought many people boycott gameloft because their games run like crap on Snapdragon.
I know Snapdragon has worse GPU than milestone/droid but come on NFS Shift looks stunning and runs like butter on my Liquid.
If Assassins creed and Asphalt would run better it ll be awesome...

Aren't we still boycotting Gameloft for their BS one-download purchase stance?

When I switched roms and my backups wouldn't reinstall properly gamesoft let me download Let's Golf again, I just e-mailed them and explained and they sent me a download link.

Also does anyone know what's up with all the permissions these games require? I just tried to install the trial of Dungeon Hunter and it wanted to read and/or send SMS messages.

I have Let's Golf, Sparta and Dungeon Warrior. They all run nicely on the Evo (Snapdragon)

I thought people were boycotting because of the "one phone" policy.

When I go to the gameloft site it says no games are compatible with my phone. Any ideas on how to fix this? Samsung captivate

The only fix is to start only buying android phones on carriers that dont remove your ability to load non market apps. At&t doesnt allow you to load non market games and gameloft's games are not in the market. You have to load them a different way.

Check the Captivate message board here on android forums and see if their is an easy fix to allow you to load apps non market.

I have an EVO so i am not sure. But i think i read something about this with captivates.

All of these games work on Snapdragon processors now. Modern Combat used to not, but the demo does, so I don't see why the full game wouldn't. Just choose the Droid version; it worked for me.

Avatar looks nice! :)

yeah , that's their way of selling stuff
seems that you can purchase the full game from inside the demo , and I can take an educated guess and say the demo actually sends an sms (to somewhere) so you get charged [and maybe would wait for a reply]
so that's reading and sending sms for you

at least, that's what I understood from this post here

Thanks for the heads up and the link. Reading through the comments I verified exactly what you said.

Sure I wish they'd put them on the market. That being said if they have solved their DRM issue then I'm find with it. One of the benefits of Android is that you can install from other sources. Market would be nice.

Looks like I might be checking out Dungeon Hunter after all.
