Mods Gate operator

I work for a gate operator manufacturing company, Rotarygatesystems.com , we are a small startup, less than $100k in total sales each year right now. We need a circuit board, that will be UL325 approved, have several different inputs for opening, closing, safeties, and various relays. I would also like to be the first in our industry to have an Internet connected gate operator to interact with the users everyday life and be based on the Android operating system. If anyone knows where I may be able to start with this project, please let me know.

I *think* you may need to be in here. My guess is you would need a customized version of Android and other things to make this work.

I'm an electrician that has messed around with both gates and WiFi stuff, so I recommend looking at devices (like switches) that already have WiFi/app capability for remote switching. Device names & examples:
- Pass & Seymour Legrand
- Leviton
From there once you get what you're looking for, you can just make a weatherproof junction with correct wiring. My advice? If you're in the process of running the power, it would be helpful to run a Cat5 data/Ethernet & CoAx cable for whatever because you may have several redesigns to work with. As far as the software goes, the electronics should already be tied to something. I once worked on a 200 acre place where the owner could turn anything off/on at will, from anywhere in the world as longvas he had data on his phone, Lol. OhMyGosh the system was unreal but most everything fit in 24"×24" & 12"×12" boxes. I wish I could remember the name brand of the system to be of better help..

Sorry I haven't replied sooner, I didn't get notifications on this. I could do a one off fairly easily, I was hoping for some advice on where to start in developing our own board for mass production.

Consider Bluetooth electronics and its wireless protocol... Class A can go up to 300 ft. You could start off using a Raspberry Pi to model your product which includes Bluetooth.
