Root GB .595 Suddenly no sound in phone calls!

Hi,

I'm running the rooted .595 GB version on my DX. Suddenly, this morning, I'm having no sound during phone calls. I've tried it several times to different numbers and finally had my husband call me. He can hear me just fine but I can't hear him at all either through my earpiece or via the speaker. I've done several reboots, a full power cycle with battery pull and nothing works. Any ideas? I'm in the middle of moving and I have to have my phone working!! Does this sound like a hardware failure? Or something with software? Are there call settings I should take a look at?

If this is a hardware failure, would taking it to a Verizon Store help - meaning would they exchange it for a new/different DX? If that's the route I need to go, what version of Android should be on my phone? I don't want to take in a rooted device running GB. :) Though I should say that I've been using it for a couple of weeks without problem.

Thanks so much in advance.
Rachel

Oh, I should mention, messaging (through Google Voice), gmail, browsing, etc all work without problem.

just for poops and grins try SBF'ing back to stock and see what happens. If your going to take it in to VZW your going to need to do that anyways. It's odd that you have two diff speakers not outputting sound. My first DX at launch had the speaker buzz i had to exchange it a week later after that i was good.

I can listen to messages from Google voice and it's perfect via both the speaker and ear piece...so my fear that it was a hardware failure of that piece seems not to be.

Same exact problem for me too this morning. Will try *228 and such before SBF. Odd that it happened to more than one of us at the same time. Calls still go out and they can hear me but I hear no audio in earpiece or speakerphone.

*22899 fixed it for me. Odd because it was working fine before this morning and my last 228 was about a week ago.

Dunno if VZW tried to send a silent update or what caused the issue, but (at least for now) I'm back to normal.

Same thing happened to me on a froyo rom. I called and had a replacement sent because it had to be hardware. I SBF so I could sent my old one back in. Just for giggles I let I try to dial the activation and my speaker/mid was working perfectly. So if a cache/wipe doesn't wok. I can confirm that a SBF will work.

don't know that the *22899 is the long term fix

something is jacked up in Froyo about that, but no one knows what it is and no one could recreate it on a regular basis. mine tended to happen after I had rebooted.
