Help Gboard changing to the numeric pad in the middle of a sentance

Does anyone else have this problem? i'd be in the middle of writing a sentence and it randomly changes it to the number/symbol keyboard. It only happens with Gboard and works fine with the Samsung keypad. I've tried reinstalling the keyboard which didn't fix it. Any help would be appreciated.

So Samsung keyboard works fine while Gboard has the issue. I think you should try another version of Gboard to see if the problem persists (you can install any version of Gboard using APK).

also maybe get in contact with the developers and see what they say. it might be a know issue with your phone and apps.
