Gboard translate in Whattsapp stops after every send

Gboard translate in Whattsapp stops after every send.
I have to select Gboard and then Translate for every single message sent.
Is there a way to fix that?

wipe cache and data for gboard. i would also wipe cache and data from Whatsapp as well.
