Help [Gen 1] Turning an 8GB N7 into a 16GB N7

Unforgiven

...eschew obfuscation...

OK, OK, hear me out. I have two Nexus 7's from the original prerelease. I got a 16GB for myself that now has a cracked and useless screen but otherwise is in good shape. I got my son an 8GB at the same time and it is in perfect condition.

I'm going to get myself a new Gen2 N7 shortly. I'd like to take the 16GB guts out of the one with the broken screen and put them into the one with a good screen.

Is it plausible? How far would I need to disassemble? Is there a take apart guide somewhere?

Anyway, just a thought. Any advice would be great.

You should be able to do this. Youtube had lots of instructional how to videos on repairing the N7, I would just find a good one and follow it.

That's what I was hoping. It seems like the reverse (and hopefully easier) of a screen change. If I new which board had the storage, I'd just swap that.
