Help General keyboard freeze

Hi,

My virtual keyboard on my HTC Desire sometimes freezes from time to time, with no apparent reason. This is completely random to me, and I'm using the latest available build. Note that I also deinstalled incriminatory programs such as ATK, etc.

For example, I might be typing an SMS, and then it might suddenly stuck in lower (or upper, whatever) case, accepting no virtual key on the keyboard.

3rd party keyboard apps are used by a lot of Android owners. Smart Keyboard, Better Keyboard, etc.

Having said that, keyboards freezing up are often one sign of an overloaded system due to too many services/apps/widgets running, perhaps weather updating, email syncing, Facebook, etc.

Some users report success by merely rebooting the device or doing a live battery pull.

Well, I'm not using a third party keyboard app. I'm using the built-in virtual keyboard!

Sure. However, I verified the CPU usage, and it is very low. So I don't understand at all why this particular thing happens (anyway I have no other problem: no slowness, etc., with other stuff).

Yes, and it generally works, but isn't that too `big?'

I have the same problem with my Desire HD. I can be typing away then a certain button will freeze. In most cases, for some reason, it's usually on the sides of the keyboard, like the M, L, P, Delete, A, etc. An easy way of temporarily fixing it is simply to rotate the phone to landscape. The problem also happens in landscape too, and rotation to portrait helps the problem. Regardless that its a quick fix, I want to fix that problem.
