I was looking at the S4 in the Verizon store yesterday and I know it wasn't running KitKat, but I did notice that when I accessed the contacts or the phone dialer, that it was so huge when it opened that I felt like I need to step back from the phone. Each contact in the list took up nearly a half inch of space. It felt like I was looking at Windows at a resolution of 800 x 600. Is that configurable? Can you make the contacts list appear smaller, as well as the dialer, or are you stuck with how big it is? I'm wondering if it's really that big or if someone tinkered with the settings since it is a display model. I'm new to Samsung Galaxy phones and was hoping someone could provide more info. Thanks.

If your s4 is rooted, you can download a directory browser for your phone, the one I use is Root Browser by jrummy I think, and you can go to /system/build.prop and open the build.prop and scroll down until you find the density settings, there, you can change the number where a lower number makes everything appear smaller and a larger number makes things appear larger. If you dont like trying to find the build.prop manually, you can download a build.prop editor which opens it automatically and give you a list of editable stuff in your build.prop which makes it easier to view. The app is also by the same guy by the way.

Also find a flashable s4 build.prop zip you can flash to your phone in case you accidentally mess somthing up. You might also want to back up your build.prop too, even if you find a flashable zip.

What do you mean its the same procedure for the s5? Does it have that option? Im not sure but when you do change the density, it resizes everything, the status bar, the keyboard, everything
