Root General Question

I just installed the Viper Apocolapyse Rom and am wondering if I have to reinstall dk28 to barebones and root and start all over again if I want to switch to another rom or if i can just use the clockworkmod? Viper Apocolapyse is a little laggy for me. Does anyone know of another Rom that is known for being snappy? I used clockworkmod3 wich supposivley automatically installs ext4 wich is supposed to help but I dont think it installed for some reason.......when i went into recovery mode it was saying no ext4 found.

when you go into recovery, is your clockworkmod orange? if so, then you should be running on ext4. and are all set to flash any ext4 rom.
