General Request for Incredible Community Members

Android Enthusiast
Ladies and Gents,

**This is a simple request from another user in this community who has been around since Nov. when we were talking about the Incredible in the HTC Passion thread**

As we all know, the **Official HTC Incredible Thread** was a lot of fun with much useless (yet entertaining) banter and great information. Sure there were some flame wars in there, but for the most part it was a great group. This community has kind of gone downhill anymore since the phone's release though. I see multiple threads of people stating that they have had a bad experience with the phone due to force closes and other things, and many users have used these threads to just say "Get the F*** Out iPhone Fanboy." The fact is a lot of these users are just trying to get perspective on why the phone is viewed as so great, or trying to express their personal experiences so others know what has gone on with certain handsets. As a last ditch effort I am going to just throw this out there:

If you are just going on threads to flame people or tell them to go back to their old phone because obviously they're stupid if they don't like the same phone that you do, then please, just keep it to yourself.

It's ridiculous that nearly every thread has a long time member attempting to be understanding of a new users initial post while saying "pardon the juvenile comments"

Anyways, I'm off my soapbox at this point. All I'm saying is let's try to make this a community that is open to new members that want to share their experiences good or bad.

Agreed. I have only been here for a week and have noticed some flaming and whatnot going on, but the Mods are doing a pretty good job regulating the best they can. Forums will always have their trolls and will always have people who believe that just because you dont like what they like, that you are wrong.

I think this is a pretty good community and am excited to browse here and learn more and more about my phone. You just need to put the senseless arguments aside and ignore the trolls. They are fueled by responses, either positive or negative.

Trust me, we have had our fair share of trolls and such, but I must admit, this place was amazing for the last month prior to the release of the Incredible. Most of us welcome new members with open arms, but the flaming has certainly gone up exponentially. Thanks for joining and I hope you do stick around.

Thank you for that post, if I wasn't on tapatalk I would hit the thanks button. Its a shame this even has to be said though. A forum is supposed to be a place for people with similar interests to talk and eve debate, but never should it be a place for flaming and rude comments. You need to remember that most members here are new to Android and the Incredible might be their first smartphone. It was hyped up beyond its own good so of course your going to have some people who feel let down and rightfully so. Of course there is going to be bugs and some defective units, you can't attack someone because of that though. Either help them out or keep it movin' because all your doing is hurting the community when you flame and/or make rude comments. You all are part of this community and you came here on your own so respect the other members, if that's to hard for you to do then just leave or stop posting. We will survive without you, and honestly we will do better without you.

I am very new to these forums, as the Incredible is my first ever smart phone. w00t w00t!! i definetly was waiting on a sweet android device.. I find myself coming to these forums on a daily basis multiple times a day learning more and more every day. as it was stated, there are trolls on every forum. you think this place is bad, try reading some threads on MMORPG forums...

I do see flaming on here and what not, but i would not say it is excessive. i also believe the moderators are doing very well to root (i wish i could root my incredible now!!) out the obscene threads...

I will honestly admit that the Incredible is the first Android device that I have used as well. I am a bit more tech savvy than some, but that doesn't mean I have all the answers. I come here in search of info as well. I have noticed things that I'm not happy about and if I want to share those with the group I would hope it could help someone or someone could help me.

I honestly think there has been so much pent up aggression between Apple (their fanboys) and the rest of the mobile world that people on this forum let it translate to flame. I have read a good number of people switching from the iPhone to the Incredible, and they expect things to work a certain way. It could be user error, a software glitch, or the need to adjust to a process, but either way if you want to be a contributing part to the community it is your responsibility to either make constructive suggestions or keep your mouth shut.

I'm just tired of seeing "guess you better go back to your iPhone fanboy" or "don't let the door hit you on your way out."

I hope the way I worded that post didn't come out the wrong way, I wasn't referring to anyone specifically besides the first sentence.
