Here is
Geniatech new android 2.3 20111228 firmware-- testing verison"

Download and don't unzip, change the file name /format to update.img, copy to SD card, connect sd card to the box, and go to setting->privacy->update system to update. the requirement is you are using android 2.3 20111102 verison. and then you can update to above new version.

No need to update SPI this time.

Fixed problem:
youtube 1080P video playback smoothly.
Improved video play back with video player
boot screen display problem.
....... and so on.
 
i'm using 20111102 fw version .. when i play a youtube video .. the screen doesn't fit to my TV .. 1228 fw version can fix it ???

can you upload somwere else,the download is very slow
 
maybe Android v. 3 is useless, the the same as Windows Vista, in between XP and 7)))
its not even 10kb/s, it stalled(

I'm a new owner of an ATV 1000 and find that the spi is really old (earlier than 20110906) and therefore want to update. I've found 20110907SPI and will use that first but the geniatech download links for 20111102 all seem to be broken - does anyone have a copy that I can download?

For a smoothly vision, as already told by other members (enviro8), I suggest you
never try to update the inbuilt flashplayer, because this version (10.2.157.51) is
specifically made for our ARM7 processor and, additionally, it provides hardware
accelleration to videos in flash.

I would suggest you sequentially and carefully upgrade. Remember to save all your apps to you SD card as the upgrades will delete them

As the TV box is rooted, you can use any of the apps saving programs that work only on a rooted device.

I have prepared an upgrade How To and have saved the Geniatec that are no longer available from Geniatec to the Megaupload site. The other uploads should still be working, the My Gica ones are.

UPGRADE TV BOX TO ANDROID 2.3.4

For those who are interested in an upgrade path for their TV Box to Android Version 2.3.4 and probably beyond, the following method will allow you to do so and further updates are expected for the foreseeable future.

THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURES ARE CARRIED AT YOUR OWN RISK AND NEITHER I NOR THE WEBSITES OR FORUMS TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY IF THEY FAIL AND YOU DISABLE YOUR TV BOX.


INTRODUCTION

This method is for the Geniatech Enjoy ATV 1000 Android TV Box and its re-badged, NeoniQ, GTV 220 and MyGica ATV1000. I have successfully used the method on the last two and it should also work with the other two.

The methods are describes throughout the various posts at http://androidforums.com/google-tv/408166-geniatech-enjoy-tv.html.

I have used the information from the various posts and accumulated them into this method and, hopefully, resolved some of the confusion generated by the posts.

The method involves taking the box back to the starting point of Android version 2.2.5 Update 20110909. This can also be done if you had previously upgraded to Android Version 2.3 using Update20111010_Kgdtea_beta1.

The first few steps require each of the updates to be renamed

I was using the My Gica 20111102 version and the udate failed so I reloaded the Geniatec version as well as the associated SPI file just in cae. It also failed.

Both failed verification.

I re-downloaded and tried again but I again got a verification failure.

Anyone else tried?

I just installed this firmware and everything work fine.
It has some apps and a few games , market is ok and youtube is ok.

how did you upgrade directly from the menu or unpluged cable ?i have android 2.3 and i dont want to brick my box

Upgrade from menu and everything is fine.
Before this update I upgraded with MediaTech firmware but I think that's not important.

SETTING---PRIVACY---UPDATE SYSTEM
If the card with the update.img is plugged in , you don't need to navigate through the recovery menu.

-RCA L/R stereo working
-youtube search/skip/fastforward bar fixed (via application)
-youtube video size not fixed, the video seems to be bigger then my tv screen, so some edges of the video are not seen
-fixed boot logo
-too many apps/game installed by default
rest to follow. so far so good

I have the same problem with you .. But I recommend you that you should set browser type to Desktop .. U will watch video in full HD and fit to your screen :D

P/s: Did I have some problems with my English ???

You said you need to have installed (earlier) version 20111102.

Not have been more correct to say that we must have at least version 20111102 (version 20111102 or higher)...?.

20111212 and 20111228 are the same firmware 20111228 has extra apps and games pre installed. bbciplayer works in sd not hd on live tv, i cant get catch up to work. youtube works perfect hq and hd. networking works for me useing playon. inbedded videos on the web work well.
i would recomend this update
