Which firmware are you using ?
I didn't have much luck with the latest ICS, server runs, client says "connected" (if server is stopped client gives "server can't be found message") but the running server doesn't mention client is connected so client controls doesn't do anything to the server.

I came to a conclusion that the required kernel module (uinput) is not included in the ICS firmware we are using.

Use GB 20120111, that works, ICS is not good because the memory management is really hard with 512mb.

Just wanted to add, I've got a Sumvision Cyclone Nano Slim+, and it's the same device. Same device ID: stvm3.

I've got it running the latest updated, rooted, ICS update from here, but I'm pondering if it's worth going back to Gingerbread, as it's been a bit slow on ICS, and I'm having fun getting some apps, like Netflix and BBC iPlayer to run reliably.

It's fully worthed, and those apps work perfectly on GB. I personally don't recommend to update to ICS with our ATV.
 
I read that many other users, like myself, have been having audio/video sync problem with ICS and that they were resolved by updating to the new 0529 M1 firmware. My box isn't a Geniatech, but another user suggested it may be a copy of one. It also uses an AML8726 and uses a MBX DVBT reference board (c03ref). Do you think I can apply this firmware update? Any help greatly appreciated!

That seems to be all, the buyed apps are there, all installed and previously installed, all working apps and market freely. :D

Thanks for your support gio. You just have to make that change to make your update fully compatible with Geniatech ATV devices. :)

Hi werewolferx, I have already removed that file, infact if you open the update package (using winrar or 7-zip), you don't find it inside "permissions" folder.
Considering that this update doesn't delete "permissions" files inside folder but it adds only new ones,
probably, you find the file android.hardware.nfc.xml as result of a previous update.
At last, I'm happy that everything is working:)

Hi shreyansrathod, in your device you have an older "froyo" android release.
There is a particular procedure to upgrade to the latest "gingerbread" or "ICS", working for ATV1000...
but I'm not sure if it can be applied to your device (which SPI file for the update of Uboot and recovery?).
So, I suggest you to contact Geniatech customers service and ask them: support@geniatech.com

Yeah, I've already downgraded to Gingerbread. It does seem faster. I think there's still a few tweaks to make though.

I have some issues with the networking - my wireless isn't great (it's horribly crowded) so I pretty much have to use wired, but it seems to get a bit confused with using the wired port, so I have to enable wireless to get Google Play to download anything. I don't know if anybody knows how to resolve that. I'm using Geniatech's 20120606 ROM.
 
In the UK it's usually Sumvision that are the local re-brand, Sumvision arent that great a brand support wise.

Pivos the maker of the XIOS DS may start selling in the UK soon too.
 
Would someone do me a favour and post the results from GL Benchmark, Nenamark and KFS OpenGL, all of those are free apps to use.

I'm curious to see if other 8726 boxes Mali GPU's are as slow as mine. All tests were done at 720p resolution, running Android ICS.
KFS Bamboo = 6 fps
KFS Wavescape = 5 fps
KFS Galactic Core = 16 fps
KFS Overall = 7 fps

Nenamark1 = 6 fps

GL Benchmark Standard = 3 fps

I am not able to sign in on any websites.
I am using ATV1000 from last 2 months,yesterday updated to ICS4,everything was all right
I can browse internet,watch on line video.Only thing I cannot able to add goggle account to access goggle play (Error:cant establish reliable connection to server .......temporary problem or you phone may not be provisoned for data service)
I tried to sign in in my yahoo mail or google account error page not found.
Went back to 2.3.4 still same issue.
Is there any setting in device to enable data service.Device is rooted.

You need to clean both CACHE and DATA/SYSTEM from the unit, do this before upgrading again and test, that process will fix your ATV1000 ;)

My personal review on the ROM made by Geniatech on 20120606 was a full failure on my device, as the KERNEL was not fully booting the unit and currently there is not a fix for this.

The only changes are minimal to 20120111, I personally recomend goig to that version, but you need to first get the 20111112 SPI (KERNEL/BOOT), then after a full clean up CACHE and SYSTEM, you can update to 20120111, from there the solution is as easy as getting Gio's Market upgrade and settings, this will fully get you latest build of market and makes the whole market to be available for you.

Please check some posts back to see notes from my self and Gio. Hope this helps you.

How to do clean install?
I have done factory reset,deleted all data from SD card and upgraded
still have same issue.

i want to have the 20111112 recovery,i need to change the spi for that?

First, remove SD and USB from unit. Now turn unit off by pressing power button for 5 seconds.
Press and keep pressed the reset button under your unit. While pressed, turn the unit ON with power button, release reset button when you see the screen blink (something like 3 seconds), unit will go to recovery mode, but as there isn't any, will go to recovery menu.
From there you can clean all, cache and system data.

Hope this help you.
