Get a G2 or wait...

Hello Everyone,

I need some help with my current dilemma! I recently upgraded to a S5 from a Note 3. Unfortunately the S5 was defective and had to be returned. Too late to go back to my Note 3 cause I already sold it so I have to use my Nexus 4 as a backup.

However, the Nexus 4 has god awful battery life and a terrible camera. None of which I can put up with for the next couple of months.

My question is - should I buy a G2 (which are relatively cheap now) and just sell it once the G3 comes out to get that or just grab the One M8 (which I had before the S5 which I like better) and most likely keep that instead of getting the G3.

What do you think?

I think its more of a matter of prefrence. I love my g2, but when the g3 comes out something else may come better along. If i were to have a choice i go with either the m8 or g2. I love my g2, but like i said it depends on what you want. Battery life is amazing on my g2.

The m8 also has a speakers in the front. Thats what I liked about that. My opinion though is like i said just my opinion.

The G2 is an amazing device, whether you keep it or sell it you won't be disappointed.

My question would be why the terrible battery life on the N4... That is my daily driver and have no problem with battery, 3-4 hours screen time and easily make it through a day of normal use with plenty to spare.

Really? Idk how you guys do that. My N4 gets maybe 2 hours screen on time. 4 hours screen on time is what I got with the G2 when I had it so that was great to me lol

Yeah I really liked the G2 when I had it but liked the Note 3 better so I stuck with it.

Just not sure what is a better value because I'll probably get the G3 anyway, but I need a better stopgap phone than the Nexus 4.

Lol... Wow... On my work G2 I get 5-6 hours consistently, and 2-3 days use on a single charge, with sleep drain running well under 1% per hour (39% over 63 hours this last weekend, left my phone in my work vehicle from Friday night til Monday morning... Oops)

I get that everyone's situation is different though, but those numbers for an N4 seem really low.

But back to the original question, get the G2, you won't be disappointed. If you sell it and upgrade or keep it for awhile, either way you won't lose.

Where is the statement he said they had none in stock? In another thread?

No! I didn't exchange it for a new one because I was nervous that my defect could have been a common issue and I held off.

Every display model S5 that they had in store had the same loose screen around the bezel. It's weird.
