Get rid of HTC Sync notification

I see this "HTC Sync - synchronize your phone with windows" in the notifications. I clear it, and it shows up a few hours later.

I am at work and only sync with my home PC. I don't need to be reminded to do that. Is there any way to permanantly not get that notification yet not remove the HTC sync app?

I too am seeing the 'HTC Sync' icon in my notification bar and it is very persistent...and annoying! I haven't found any way to disable it either, but will certainly post back if I find it.

When I registered my hero to my existing google account, it added a bunch of b.s. emails in my contacts list, so i went through and deleted all of them...it ended up being like 144...i know ridiculous. well shortly after that i got a notification that "too many contacts deletes" it was like an "ongoing sync" when i click on it, it gives me the option to 1. delete the items 2. undo the deletes. or 3. do nothing for now. Ive clicked all three options at seperate times, obviously and the notification continues to return.....very very annoying!!!!

When charing my phone using the USB cable, connected to my PC at work, the HTC Sync notification keeps popping up.

I repeatedly tap

"Clear Notifications"

but it keeps coming back.

Question:

Can we simply ignore it?

All I want to do is charge my phone.

As long as the phone is plugged in to a computer with the USB cable, the sync notification will be there. Unplug it and it should go away. Don't know of anyway to stop it being there. It's not hurting anything, so just ignore it I say.

I was able to get it to go away by going into Settings->Applications->Manage Applications->PC Synchronization and clicking "Stop Now".

However next time you reboot your phone it will come back, I haven't found a way to permanently disable it.
