Get rid of lock screen

How do I disable the Motorola lock screen? I have a pattern lock screen set up but with the Motorola one there are 2 lockscreens, one swipe and one pattern.

Is it not possible to get rid of the 2nd one? So I can press the power button then enter the pattern without having to swipe? It's obviously not a huge issue just a little irritating.

I believe this is a security feature of Lollipop; and really dumb if you ask me.

As far as I know it can't be defeated from within the phone. There's a feature request thread on the Android developer's forum going back several years with hundreds of people asking for this to be REMOVED; so far, no joy as far as I know.

I use Tasker and Secure Settings and at one point I had the swipe screen gone. However, I've since did a factory reset and I haven't figured out again how I got that to work. In any event, it's doable with 3rd party apps.

I *believe* the lock screen only goes away when Security is set to "none", that is, no password, no PIN, no pattern, and no swipe.

Now that I have my phone re-configured after my reset, I have Tasker and Secure Settings set to continuously configure my phone in this mode. Whenever the screen sleeps, I swipe once or press the power button to wake it and my home screen appears.

For locking the phone, I have a Tasker shortcut task placed in the perpetually visible app bar on the bottom of the screen. Pressing this immediately locks my phone and requires a PIN to get back in. When I'm back in, Tasker resets the Security feature to "none". In addition to this, I created a Tasker timer app that locks the phone after 15 minutes in inactivity.

This is how the Lollipop lockscreen feature should work IMO.
