Get Samsung S3 or wait?

I was going to get an iPhone 5, having waited patiently with my 3GS until an iPhone with a bigger screen came out. When the iPhone 5 launched, I was underwhelmed. Then, I started to see what Android was all about. I was shocked! Android brought the geek out in me, seeing how incredibly customisable it was and how boring and limiting I realised iOS is.

Enough!

So, I am thinking of getting a S3 as my first Android phone. However, should I wait for the LG or Nexus, which are likely to be due here anytime soon?

What is your take on this?

Honestly, if you can get an upgrade at low cost, of course at the price of being stuck in a contract, the S3 is an awesome phone, i doubt anyone will tell you otherwise.

I would suggest getting the S3, its a great device and you will enjoy it a lot :)
 
There's always something better coming out within the next few months. That's the beauty and downfall of Android. The S3 is arguably the best and most complete phone on the market. There are rumors of the nexus, but nothing substantial. LG is a failure of a company. Mediocre software and build quality, and low developer support. They are awful about updates.

I bought the GS3 and was planning on selling it when the nexus launched, I've since changed my mind.

No substantial rumors about the new Nexus yet. Basically the only reason people are expecting it is because the Nexus phones are usually released Nov or Dec.

The Galaxy SIII will hold the title of best Samsung phone until May next year, when the SIV schedule comes.
 
I've just found out there is a Samsung S3 LTE version coming out shortly. I think I will wait for that one. Might be within the next month.
 
Loving my S3 so far, can't stop playing with it, need to work.. hahaha

Samsung S3 LTE version? you must be in Europe, I'm in Canada and mine is LTE ready, just waiting for it to kick in with my carrier, I hear first week of October, woohoo. Gonna be insanely fast.
 
I jumped shipped the day after Apple announced the iPhone 5. I have had an iPhone since day one. I was very disappointed with the minimum upgrades they do and iOS is so restrictive. I got the SG3 and have zero complaints. Android is very polished now and the SG3 is a great phone. Why wait?

That is a great idea. Having been on a 3GS for so long you don't even know what you're missing. Even in America where most Android phones are 4G whenever an iUser jumps ship they cannot believe how incredibly slow their data speeds have been their entire life, and I tend to think they feel cheated by Apple's sphere of influence whenever they realize this

I got the S3 a week ago, since I happened to have the week off from work I've been using it non stop. It's addicting!
