Getjar

How legal and safe is Getjar? Are the apps on offer there with the developers permission, or what exactly is the deal with them offering non ad supported apps for free, when they're on sale in the market?

It look's like it would be s cool app store to use if it's legal.

Admittedly safe is a relative term, and all things are subjective.

To elaborate on safe, what I was asking is if getjar is a trusted site, in the way that say the amazon app store or android app store are trusted. (So with common sense
and after reading all the intents and reviews and so on and on and on) , or if the getjar store is best avoided.

I realize that there is in all likely hood no such thing as a 100% safe app store, but I'm sure there are ones best avoided. Was just wondering where getjar stood.

I've never had any issues, and I've downloaded several apps. Be aware tho, that the 'gold' paid apps for free are not current versions ( at least not the majority of the ones I've downloaded), nor do they show you the version number, or show you if updates are available. Other than that, no major issues that I've seen.

GetJar is an app store like App Brain and Amazon App Store. It is not unsafe. But Google Market is the safest.
