Help getting a new SD card

I'm in the market for a new micro SD card.

The max size of an SD card for the HTC Magic is 16gigs, isn't it? Is this the maximum the phone will accept or just the biggest micor SD card available now?

Will a bigger card cause any speed issues or is bigger always better?

16 is the largest that is easy and priced right .... but the phone has SD ver 2.0 capability and can use 32GB but they are not ready available and are very pricey ... only seen them in the FarEast ...

Make sure you get a Class 6 Card. And unless you really really really need 16GB, look at the Class 6 8GB cards. I am finding the 8GB at a better cost/gb price point than the 16GB.

Be very careful when buying cards from afar, as many less-honest organisations are making card with low memory / speed, but changing the shown capacity.

For this reason, stick to a reputable brand from a reputable seller... pay a few more pounds if necessary!

I have just bought a 8gig class 6 and formatted it up with the right partions and man... its faaaast

OK, so when I do get my new card how to I transfer my data? Is it as easy as dragging everything onto my PC, and then dragging it back onto the new card?

When you get your new card ... Format it as FAT32 and then transfer files just like you would with any usb drive ...

If you do it while it is in the phone you will need to mount the SDCard as a USB drive ... so the PC has access to it like a usb thumb drive ....

You can also use a dedicated card read/writer adapter.
