Getting back to stock ROM with upgrade possibility

I rooted my sensation and installed a custom ROM a while ago. I wanted to get back to stock ROM, and downloaded one and flashed it. Now I am not able to upgrade to the latest version of android. It downloads the update, but when it reboots to install, I just get the 4EXT Recovery screen with logo. What am I doing wrong?

Do you have the stock recovery installed or still a custom one? That frequently prevents OTA's from installing. Also, all bloatware needs to be present and not frozen.

I don't think that is stock (as in factory). I think you need an RUU file to get a true factory rom.
