I've had the Dinc 1 since release and now am up for an upgrade. I did a lot of research on the phones available on Verizon and kept coming back to the Dinc 2. I have friends who have the Droid X, Droid X2, Thunderbolt, Fascinate and the Iphone 4 and I have played around with them all. The Droid X and X2 are to big and they are not even as snappy as my Dinc 1. The Thunderbolt is also to big and the battery life scares me The Fascinate simply didn't impress me at all. 4g doesn't interest me and it won't be in my area for at least another year. I played around with the Dinc 2 in the store and it felt good in my hand. I know going from the Dinc 1 to the Dinc 2 is not a big jump in technology but I've read good things about it and so I took the plunge and got it. It should be delivered to my home on wednesday. I hope I like it!

I, too, think you made the good choice, Loco. Amazon shipped mine today and it should be here Wednesday as well... although, I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for a Tuesday delivery. 
I spent days checking out the Inc2, X2 and TB. And I mean days of non-stop, computer/phone-geek on summer vacation, kinda research, reading pretty much any post I could find over 3 different android forum sites on all 3 of these phones.
Battery life and price made me look away from the TB. 4g won't be in my area until the end of this year at the earliest (don't know if I trust big red with their release date). Even so, most of my day is spent either at the University or home. Both have great wifi access. I'll wait for VZ's 2nd gen 4g phones just to make sure the network/software/hardware have the kinks all ironed out.
As far as the X2... well there is a whole thread here filled with current/past X2 customers listing their issues with the phone.
